Like when you handed me a fig leaf
and said this world is a fig
or a series of flat lands
and the end of the earth the
ends of the earth are tied with this little string
turned upside endside or down and somehow,
we're in the middle of -
That's when you stopped,
looked at your hand, then to my hand. You said,
this thing here -
You seemed frustrated trying to explain exactly what it was.
Then pointed to the ground.
That was a few lives back.
I still like to recount the ways
the wind blended into my eyes that day.
